A free workshop to help build the confidence of people who have been through treatment for cancer will be held in Colchester this month.
The ‘Take Control’ course is open to anyone living in north east Essex who has completed treatment for the disease within the past five years or who is about to finish.
The session will focus on practical and emotional skills following cancer, as well as self-management techniques and coping strategies.
Maureen Bennett, one of the course facilitators and fellow cancer survivor, said: “I count it as a privilege to facilitate this workshop. I never cease to be amazed at the benefit people find from being free to talk about their cancer journey in a safe environment.”
Up to 12 places are available, and the day runs from 1pm to 4pm at Colchester General Hospital.
To book, contact Debbie Farthing on 01206 745347 or email debbie.farthing@colchesterhospital.nhs.uk.
