Uttlesford Food Bank has joined forces with the library in Saffron Walden by placing a donation point in the building.
Food bank volunteers and library staff attended the launch on October 3, making the donation point the fourth one in town.
Other points around the district include Tesco in Great Dunmow and the library in Thaxted.
Malcolm Domb, co-ordinator for the food bank, said: “We are delighted to have the support of Saffron Walden Library by allowing us to have a permanent food donation point in the library along with information about how to access the food bank.
“Members of the public will now be able to leave donations for the food bank in a central location whilst the library is open.”
The food bank helped more than 600 people last year including 179 children.
