Traffic congestion at peak times along the High Street and Debden Road in Saffron Walden since the start of the week has been caused by repairs to a water pipe.
Affinity Water says the temporary traffic lights in Debden Road should be removed by tomorrow (Wednesday, October 5) and apologised to residents for any inconvenience.
A spokeswoman for Affinity Water said: “The pipe has been repaired and the reinstatement of the road is due to be completed by tomorrow, Wednesday, October 5. Traffic lights and barriers have been put in place for the safety of our technicians and motorists.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to motorists and pedestrians and would like to thank our customers for their patience while we finish this work.”
