THERE was a great buzz in Saffron Walden on Saturday as the 21st annual Michaelmas Fayre returned to the town.
The event, organised by Saffron Walden Lion and Lionesses, raises money for local charities – this year they are the Alzheimer’s Society, Thaxted Centre for the Disabled and Saffron Screen – and offered a wide range of stalls, entertainment and a food fair.
Angela Howard, of the Lions and Lionesses, said: “The fair brought a lot of people into the town and there was a wonderful atmosphere.”
The event has raised in the region of 3000 in previous years and Mrs Howard is hopeful that a similar figure can be reached this time around.
