SAFFRON Walden Community Hospital is hosting a day long health promotion fair on Friday September 24 with the theme of prevention.
The multi-agency event will feature stalls including one with nurses doing blood pressure and pulse checks as well as offering hand hygiene advice. There will also be displays by specialist staff including Parkinson’s nurses, respiratory nurses, a dermatology nurse, and midwives.
Community health coaches will be on hand to give advice about healthy lifetsyles, and there will also be endoscopy and bowel advice.
Visitors will also be able to check out dental advice and meet experts on crime prevention and fire safety.
Outpatients staff nurse, Melanie Groiut, said: “Health, social care, police, fire and voluntary agencies are all coming together to support what should be a fantastic day-long event.”
The event will be opened at 9am by Dorothy Bartlett, secretary of the Hospital’s League of Friends, a voluntary organisation supporting the work of the hospital. The fair will continue until 5pm.
