AN outreach service provided by Uttlesford Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) could soon be coming to Stansted Mountfitchet.
Speaking at a meeting of Stansted Parish Council last Wednesday, manager of the CAB Kate Robson said that the village had always been the "poor relation" in terms of CAB coverage.
Currently people have to travel to Bishop's Stortford, Thaxted or Saffron Walden to access the service, but this could soon change.
"The demand for an outreach service is here and we can do it in an easier and cheaper way than we were once able to," said Ms Robson.
If the service gets the go-ahead it would run for one morning a week with clients being able to book appointments to see an adviser. It could be up and running by March.
The parish council said it was a good idea and are due to vote on how they can support the scheme.
