A group of scouts and explorers from Saffron Walden have been selected for the "trip of a lifetime" in North America next summer.
The group of young people are fundraising for the trip next July, which has been organised by the Essex Scout Association.
The expedition will include two days in New York, a week camping upstate with US scouts, and a five-day trek on foot or by canoe in the Adirondack National Park.
Finally, the group will visit Niagara Falls and end their trip in Toronto.
The scouts' first fundraising event is a cake stall and raffle on the morning of Saturday, November 26 - outside Premier Travel.
