Children from St Mary's Primary School in Saffron Walden are benefitting from the wisdom of care home residents as part of the Wisdom Booth project.
Residents at Mountfitchet House, in Stansted, shared their advice with the younger generation.
Children from Years 4, 5 and 6 wrote their questions on 'pearls' created by the care home residents, and the residents returned the pearls with their words of advice.
The pearls included 87-year-old Deirdre's advice that the key to happiness is to "look after yourself but enjoy yourself", and 93-year-old Mary's advice to "just deal with one thing at a time".
Home manager Joanna Duke said: "It was fantastic to work with children from St Mary’s to share the advice that residents would give their younger selves."
