A WOMAN had her bank card stolen whilst using a supermarket ATM after she was distracted by a masked man.

Essex Police have released a public appeal following the theft of a bank card, which was then used at another ATM.

The incident happened on Monday, October 3 at Tesco, Radwinter Road at 12.30pm.

Police are looking to identify and speak to a man in connection with the incident.

The man was described as black, aged 30 to 40 and he was wearing black, wearing a black hat and a white and black stripy face mask.

Officers are looking for anyone with information in connection with the crime to get in contact.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Officers investigating a theft in Saffron Walden are asking for the public’s help to identify a man they'd like to speak to.

“A woman reported being distracted by a man as she used the ATM at Tesco, Radwinter Road at 12.30pm on Monday 3 October.

“Her card was taken during the incident and was subsequently used at another ATM in the nearby area.

“The man was described as black and aged 30-40 years. He was dressed in black wearing a black hat and a white and black stripy face mask.
