MP Kemi Badenoch recently held a meeting with the Saffron Walden BID to discuss the challenges faced by local businesses.

Mrs Badenoch spoke with the BID chair Shara Vickers and vice chair Julie Redfern.

Shara Vickers said: "We were pleased to be invited to meet with Kemi Badendoch, and we used the opportunity to act as collective voice for Saffron Walden town centre businesses.

"We stressed the need for there to be no change in business rate relief that many have benefitted from for several years.

"We also asked that the threshold for this be raised to include more town centre business premises.

"We also discussed VAT and requested that this needs to be increased from £85k."

A follow-up meeting will be arranged in June.
