Church expert Sir Paul Britton will visit St Mary's in Newport on Thursday, July 20 to help raise funds for the restoration of the church tower.
Sir Paul, who is a trustee of the National Churches Trust, will offer guided tours of the church from 3pm to 5pm. Admission is free, but donations towards the restoration project are welcome.
In the evening, Sir Paul will give an illustrated talk in Church House, next to the church, on the subject of 'stained glass in English churches'.

The talk will take place at 8pm, and doors will open at 7.30pm for refreshments.
Tickets - which include a glass of wine - are £10 per person and available from Nisa in Newport or online at https://www.friendsofstmarysnewport.org.uk/.
