People living in Saffron Walden are invited to have their say on air quality in the town.

Uttlesford District Council is working in collaboration with Global Action Plan and MP Smarter Travel to find out more about issues concerning Saffron Walden residents, and what they think about air quality.

The survey, which opened this week and should take less than five minutes to complete, asks residents how they currently travel around the area and heat their home.

Residents have until Sunday, September 24 to complete the survey, and responses will help inform the council's work to improve air quality for everyone who lives or works in Saffron Walden.

Participants can also enter a draw to win one of three £100 vouchers on completion of the survey.

Councillor Richard Freeman, district councillor for Castle Ward, Saffron Walden, and member of the Saffron Walden Clean Air Steering Group, said: "We want to understand residents’ concerns and how they feel about air pollution in Saffron Walden.

"I encourage everyone who lives or works in Saffron Walden to take part in this survey so that we can get a clear picture of feeling and habits locally.

"There are no right or wrong answers and your participation is entirely voluntary.

"The short and long-term health effects of poor-quality air are clear but entirely preventable.

"We can all make changes which would improve the quality of the air we breathe."
