Voters in Uttlesford are invited to have their say on polling locations within the district, which are checked and reviewed at every election.

Uttlesford District Council must also complete a full review of its polling districts and polling places (buildings) and the associated station (room where the voting takes place) every five years.

The council is asking for feedback - either of support for the existing arrangements or suggestions for alternatives.

This assessment seeks to improve the electoral process by making polling locations accessible and convenient for eligible voters.

The key aspects of the review include:

  • Improving accessibility at polling stations, including for residents with disabilities or mobility challenges.
  • Community engagement: Welcoming feedback and suggestions from the community to understand their specific needs and preferences.
  • Population changes: Adapting polling districts to accommodate changes in population density, demographic shifts and residential developments.
  • Improving facilities and amenities at existing polling stations.

The deadline to submit feedback is Monday, November 13.
