A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected kidnapping in Saffron Walden.

Essex Police were called to the High Street at around 10.30am on Monday, March 11.

A member of the public reported seeing a man assaulted before being taken into a vehicle and driven away.

Officers quickly identified the suspect and located and stopped the vehicle.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of kidnap and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

He has been released on bail until May 20.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage relating to the incident to get in touch.
