An Essex ghost hunter out to prove there is life after death has become the fifth faithful to be murdered in The Traitors.

Builder Adam was the latest murder victim on the hit BBC show after traitors Rachel and Stephen successfully targeted a faithful who was not protected from the night’s murder.

Last night, viewers saw seven contestants take shields during the day’s challenge, granting them protection from the traitors’ next kill.

In the turret, Rachel and Stephen carefully deliberated over which player may have had a shield.

They took a risky gamble and chose the 34-year-old Essex ghost hunter as their latest murder victim.

Rachel said: “It takes someone out of the game I can’t read.”

After receiving his letter and finding out he had been killed off the show, Adam said: “Gits! I wanted to carry on playing, but they murdered me.”

He added: “I’m happy with how far I’ve come in this game. It’s been a life-changing experience.

“Everything I’ve learned, and every person that I’ve met, I’ve took a bit on board.

“I’ve been murdered. From hunting ghosts to becoming one!”

Adam is the main presenter of Paranormal Essex, a ghost hunting group with four of his lifelong friends, who share their haunting investigations on YouTube.

Speaking to one of the Gazette’s sister titles about the group in 2020, Adam said he has been keen to explore the possibility of reconnecting with his dad and best friend, who had died.

Adam said: “I wanted to prove to myself that my dad is still out there somewhere and that I’m going to meet him there again another day, because he was so young and we were best mates.

“That and the fact that I love old buildings. I love the smell of them.”

Paranormal Essex share videos on YouTube as they investigate haunted buildings, enter paranormal hotspots, look for ghosts around the UK, and try to prove life after death.
