A detached Essex pub complete with a two-bedroom flat, trade garden and parking for up to 30 vehicles is set to go to auction next month.

The Prince of Wales Public House at Brick End, Broxted, near Dunmow, has a guide price of £350,000 plus.

It is due to be offered vacant at auction on September 10, 2026, at 12pm.

The freehold property sits around two miles from London Stansted Airport, with the M11 also nearby offering links towards London, the M25 and Cambridge.

The building has reportedly been refurbished throughout and includes a traditional open-plan bar area, with a feature wooden bar servery and space for around 30 customers.

A rear conservatory provides capacity for a further 40 covers, while a raised games area has room for a pool table, darts and around 20 additional covers.

To the rear, the property includes a commercial kitchen, preparation area, storage and a walk-in fridge-freezer.

There is also a patio, fenced grass trade garden, covered smoking area and additional external storage.

Upstairs is accommodation described as comprising three rooms, a kitchen and bathroom.

The listing describes the property as having a two-bedroom flat above the pub.

A large shingle car park at the front is said to provide space for approximately 25 to 30 cars, while the site also has a front patio and outbuildings.

Mapping information supplied with the listing puts the gross floor area of all buildings on site at around 3,552 sq ft.

The pub has previously attracted positive reviews from visitors on Tripadvisor.

One reviewer in February 2024 praised "amazing" homemade food, including roast beef, apple crumble, lasagne and coleslaw, while another described it as a "friendly place to be" with particularly good Sunday lunches.

Earlier reviews also highlighted the venue's traditional character, food and hospitality.

One visitor called it a "warm and welcoming" pub with "great beers" and "great food", while another said it was worth travelling out of the way for its log-burning fire, generous portions and welcoming owners.

The sale is being handled by auctioneer Strettons.

The firm said it had not carried out an internal inspection, with photographs and site-area information supplied by the seller.

The public house has an EPC rating of C.

The flat's EPC rating is listed as awaiting confirmation.
