FIRE chiefs have not ruled out exploring the use of social media to report 999 calls – after London’s brigade announced it was looking to blaze a Twitter trail earlier this week.
Essex Fire and Rescue told the Reporter it was “not something the service is looking into at the moment” but could not rule out the possibility of following in the footsteps of their capital counterparts in the future.
On Wednesday The London Fire Brigade said it was to explore setting up the world’s first 999 emergency twitter feed.
