Nearly half the students at The Perse School in Cambridge, 45.5 per cent achieved an A* in their A levels and 80 per cent achieved A* or A.

These are the best-ever results for the school and for the seventh year in succession more than three quarters of entries were graded at either A* or A.

There were 43 students (26 per cent of the sixth form) who achieved three or more A* grades and 108 students (65 per cent) got three or more A* or A grades and 148 students (90 per cent) got at least one A*.

Congratulating students and staff on their success Ed Elliott, Head, said: ““Year after year, the results are remarkably consistent. That Perse students can achieve such outstanding academic results alongside their enthusiasm for independent research, their work in the community, a full list of sports fixtures, myriad music and drama performances, and challenging oversees expeditions, is testament to their appetite for life, character and dedication.”
