UCS has issued a reminder to students collecting their A-level results today that it is not too late to apply to university.

The university has congratulated all those who are receiving their results today, but is calling on any youngsters who have missed the grades they needed for their chosen institution to consider going through clearing.

Head of admissions Lucy Whitmore said: “Even though we are expecting to be busy during clearing and recommend that students get in touch quickly this year, it is still important that they don’t panic and rush into a course that they are not sure about.

“We understand that this time of year is often a worrying time for individuals considering continuing their education and we really hope that students take advantage of our open events and get in touch with us to discuss the options available.”

UCS is running a clearing hotline on 01473 338352 and a series of drop-in events on Saturday, August 20, from 10am to 1pm, and Wednesday, August 24 between 4pm and 7pm.
