THE work of an award-winning artist is currently on display at The Eight Bells in Saffron Walden.
Jean Noble's exhibition, depicting the vastness of Kenya, will run until September.
Ms Noble, who won The Lady Iaming Award for Abstract Art in 2007, said: "My paintings reflect the yearning I have for the empty vastness of areas of my native Kenya. They also express the spirituality of such places and their deep effect on me."
"I waver between a fluid, biological language and geometric forms but in both cases I hope to convey presence and stillness. Organic texturing is introduced to soften the shapes and pay homage to the things at my feet."
Ms Noble trained at Loughborough and Kinston Art Colleges and the exhibition contains work that has been displayed across the country.
