CHILDREN got gifts from Santa Claus and made festive decorations when Buffy Bus rolled into the Market Square in Saffron Walden on Saturday.

The mobile playbus for pre-school children, which visits 14 communities across Uttlesford every week during term time, costs £46,000 a year to keep on the road and project manager Rosie Juhl said the event was to raise awareness of it.

"It was a very successful day, with more than 30 children jumping aboard the bus to see Father Christmas," she said.

"They had a great time drawing, painting and creating small Christmas decorations."

Father Christmas and Buffy Bus will be in Saffron Walden town centre this Saturday between 10am and 2pm.
