A young Anglo-Australian couple who first met in Saffron Walden have named their daughter after the town where they fell in love.
Saffron May George was born on January 28 to proud parents Chloe and Craig, who contacted the Reporter last week.
Chloe, 32, who is originally from Sawbridgeworth, used to work as a legal secretary at Pellys Solicitors in Market Walk and was introduced to Craig by her boss at work, director Andrew Arnold, through Saffron Walden Cricket Club.
Craig, 30, was then the overseas player at the club, and the couple moved to Perth, Australia in 2007, before marrying in 2012.
Baby Saffron is the second addition to the family, following the birth of Imogen Grace in January 2013.
Chloe said: ““We both love Saffron Walden and have very happy memories of our time there, so we decided to call our second daughter after the beautiful town where we first met.”
