AN antarctic explorer was amongst the many people invited into a school to share his experiences of visiting of living in another country.
Clavering Primary School hosted a series of talks and sessions during Global Week to develop the pupils’ speaking and listening skills and to enhance their awareness of the diverse world in which they live.
Speakers included local explorer Henry Evans, who has recently been on an expedition to Antarctica, as well as parents, school governor and a grandparent.
All discussed what part of the world they visited or lived in, what daily life is like there, which languages are spoken, aspects of the culture and any interesting anecdotes they wanted to share.
As well as Antarctica, pupils heard about a variety of places including Australia, India, Indonesia, Burma, Germany, France and Phillipines.
