A NEWPORT architect is building his reputation as well as award-winning houses after picking up a top prize.
Chartered architect Ian Abrams won the best individual house category at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Excellence Awards 2009.
"I was pleased that the house had been nominated, and delighted that it had been shortlisted," said Mr Abrams. "It's the cherry on the cake that it won. Now we're through to the national finals, so I hope we do as well in six months time."
Mr Abrams picked up the award for his design of a house in Meldreth, South Cambridgeshire, beating three other architects in the category.
