An Army officer based at Carver Barracks swapped the familiar surroundings of his base for a spot in a television studio last weekend.
Captain Andy Sanger MBE got the opportunity to commentate on the annual Army v Navy rugby game for Sky Sports.
A former Army rugby player and coach himself, Cpt Sanger joined Sky Sports’ James Gemmell and former Royal Navy rugby captain Nick Bartlett in the Twickenham studio.
More than 80,000 people packed into the stadium to watch the Army defeat the Navy 30-17 – a result which pleased Cpt Sanger. The 45-year-old works as a careers management officer for 101 Engineer Regiment (EOD).
