Arsonists set fire to a derelict school last night (Thursday).

Firefighters from Stansted and Newport were sent at 5.45pm to St Johns Road, Stansted, after a fire was started in a classroom of the old St Mary’s School.

The fire was extinguished shortly before 7pm and the cause has been recorded as deliberate.
