Audley End House and Gardens in Saffron Walden has won the award for Best Garden in the Historic and Heritage Parks category at this year’s Anglia in Bloom awards, and has also been awarded with a gold medal for their efforts.

The gardens at Audley End House feature work of two of the most famous and influential designers of the 18th century - Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown and the neoclassical designer, Robert Adam.

English Heritage’s head gardener at Audley End House, Louise Ellis, said: “We’re delighted to have received a gold award and to be announced as the winner of the Historic and Heritage Parks. The gardens are such an important part of Audley End and the whole gardening team – from our gardeners to our volunteers – work incredibly hard to craft and maintain the spectacular landscape here.”
