Loyal supporters of the Countess of Warwick Country Show came out in full force for this year’s event – despite the rainy weather on the second day.
Visitors got to enjoy a vast array of fun activities on Sunday and Monday in both the arena and the many marquees around the grounds, in Little Easton.
This year’s animal parade featured Teddy the Bull, a gentle beast who loves a hug, who only just about made it after a serious fight with another bull and a Red Poll bull who grazes in Hatfield Forest for half the year.
Judges were delighted to see 100 more entries than last year at the Horticultural Marquee, and were particularly impressed of the standard of the floral arrangements. Best in Show was a moving display of flowers in a boot, including poppies, commemorating the First World War.
Plenty of other events also took place including races, car displays and live performances.
Canon Ivy Crawford said: “This show happens thanks to the incredible team spirit of all the volunteers involved. It’s their enthusiasm throughout the year and on the days that carries the Show and makes it the fantastic success it is.”
Money raised goes towards the upkeep of the historic buildings of the churches of The Five Parishes.
