The Stephen Perse Foundation, which runs Dame Bradbury’s School in Saffron Walden, welcomed award-winning comedians Ben Miller and Ed Byrne for a variety of events across their schools on Monday.

Ben and Ed hosted a lunchtime event for around 300 students, parents and staff, to hear about Ben’s career journey. The audience were treated to a chat show style interview with Ed talking to Ben about the path he took from studying Natural Sciences at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, to a PhD in Physics and into a career in comedy and writing.

Ben also gave a presentation with a reading and signing of his new book, The Night I met Father Christmas, for students at Dame Bradbury’s in Saffron Walden in the afternoon.

Melissa Santiago-Val from the Stephen Perse Foundation said: “We strive to find inspiring and different ways of bringing creativity into our schools. Not only did Ben read to and entertain our younger students with his new book, the lunchtime event was like having our own ‘Comedy Chat Show’. Overall, such a fun day, and we are so grateful to Ben Miller and Ed Byrne for doing the events.”
