Students at Forest Hall School have achieved the school’s best results.

The Stansted School has seen 60 per cent of its Year 11s got five or more A* to C grades, including English and maths, up almost a fifth from last year’s 43 per cent.

Forest Hall has introduced Saturday school and revision sessions during holiday to help boost students’ results after joining the Burnt Mill Co-operative Academy Trust (BMAT) in February.

Stephen Hehir, head of school since BMAT adopted the school, said: “I am so pleased for the students, parents/carers and staff of Forest Hall School.

“This is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our Year 11 students who were prepared to go the extra mile to achieve success. They were always prepared to study in after-school sessions, on Saturday mornings and during their holidays to achieve the highest grades.

“From day one, I totally believed in the students and knew they would have the potential to achieve greatness.

“Well done to the class of 2015 for realising their potential.”

Helena Mills, head of BMAT schools, added: “This shows such tremendous leadership by Stephen Hehir, who made some very quick changes and interventions for the Year 11 students to ensure they got the results which will open doors to them.

“This is an amazing improvement in just a term and a half. Clearly, all the hard work in lessons and on Saturdays has paid off.”
