Five people were baptised and 22 confirmed by the Bishop of Chelmsford at a service at St Mary’s Parish Church earlier this month.
The Right Reverend Stephen Cottrell visited the Saffron Walden church on Sunday, December 8 and preached on the Advent themes of ‘Prepare and ‘Repent’.
The Rector, the Reverend David Tomlinson, described the service as “wonderfully uplifting”, adding: “With five adults baptised and 22 confirmed, and the age range from 13 to 80 plus – each with a story of faith to tell – it was encouraging to see the impact of God’s grace through the church’s ministry here on so many lives.”
