It has been a bloomin’ great success at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show for a Wendons Ambo landscaping company.

TKE Landscaping won a silver medal in the Show Garden category at the world’s biggest flower show for its entry, ‘A Growing Obsession’.

The team, headed by Tarquin Ellington, worked 13 hour days to get the garden ready for the show which celebrated its 25th anniversary last month.

Mr Ellington said: “You have three weeks to build it from scratch. The toughest part was the time restraint, you are up against the clock

“It’s an extreme version of what we do on a daily basis.

“It was a great thing to do, and fun, we enjoyed it and to get an award on top of it was a great recognition.”

The entry was inspired by a Victorian book called Gardening for Ladies, part of the 18th century movement Mr Ellington describes as “the birth of our national obsession with gardening”.
