Budding gardeners have raised more than £350 for Marie Curie nurses.

Reception class pupils at Clavering Primary School all planted a daffodil bulb and looked after it until it flowered, as part of the Marie Carie Cancer Care Mini Pots of Care project.

The children collected sponsor money for the daffodils, as well baking and decorating 200 fairy cakes to sell to the rest of the school, in celebration of the bulbs flowering.

Since 2005, schools, nurseries and groups have raised more than £3.8 million in support of Marie Curie nurses through the initiative, equating to 190,000 hours of Marie Curie home nursing care for people with any terminal illness.
