Police have confirmed the body found in Newport was that of missing Dunmow man Matthew Vernon.
The 23-year-old, of Knights Way, was found in field off Bury Water Lane, on Tuesday afternoon.
He had not been seen or heard from since attending a party in the village on Saturday.
There were no suspicious circumstances and a report has been prepared for the Coroner.
