Boy, 11, cycles from Wimbish to the coast
An 11-year-old boy who was moved by the Syrian refugee crisis has cycled 53 miles to raise money for Save the Children.
Edward Delville-Jones, who lives in Wimbish, cycled from his home to Shotley Gate on the Suffolk coast on Sunday, October 4 with his dad after coming up with the idea himself over the school holidays.
Edward, who is a member of Junior Walden Tri, has already raised more than £1,000 for the children’s charity on his Just Giving page after following the refugee situation on the news.
The youngster completed the route in under four hours and mum Sarah said she is very proud of his fundraising efforts.
She said: “He loves cycling and wanted to do something to help the children in Syria, so combined both to come up with the charity ride.
“I’m very proud, he worked really hard and did very well.”
