A group of brave women who have all suffered from breast cancer strutted their stuff on the catwalk on Tuesday night (October 4) to raise money for charity.

The fashion show, which was in aid of Addenbrooke’s Breast Cancer Appeal, attracted a sell-out crowd of 250 to Grand Arcade shopping centre in Cambridge, where 16 models, including some who are still cancer patients, took to the runway.

The ladies, who also bravely modelled underwear from sponsors Rigby and Peller during the evening, were joined on the catwalk by partners and family members to show their support.

The group are hoping to raise £10,000 for the Addenbrooke’s appeal, with the money going towards biopsy equipment for the breast cancer unit, enabling immediate diagnosis.

Morwenna Banks, who is the voice of mummy pig in children’s television programme Peppa Pig, attended the evening to support the appeal.

Organiser Natalie Emuss said: “It was an amazing evening. There was a great atmosphere and all the girls felt very proud.

“It was a very uplifting experience, as well as being very good fun, and there was a special camaderie among all the group.

“The biopsy equipment will cost £50,000 and we are hoping to donate a chunk of that, because it will make a real difference to people.

“I’d like to thank Jenny Mason from Rigby and Peller for all her help with the evening.”
