TWO men have been arrested in connection with this morning's raid on the NatWest bank in Saffron Walden Market Square.

The two Cambridgeshire men, a 21-year-old and a 25-year-old, were arrested at around 11.30am. They are currently being questioned about their involvement in the incident, which police have now revealed was an armed robbery.

It has also been revealed that the four members of staff who were found locked inside the bank - a male manager and three female employees - were uninjured but suffering from shock. They are currently being supported by police liaison officers and bank staff.

It is still not known what, if anything, was stolen.
