FREE courses in English and mathematics are being offered to the people of Saffron Walden.

Essex County Council is delivering the lessons, held in a supportive and relaxed environment at local libraries, to offer people the chance to improve their skills, get qualifications and better their job prospects.

Students can learn at their own pace with the assistance of specially trained staff to help them choose the right course and guide them throughout.

The council's cabinet member for adults, health and community wellbeing, Cllr David Finch, said: "This is a unique opportunity for local people to gain a qualification and brush up their skills."

Courses start at Saffron Walden Library on February 10. For more information visit the library, in King's Street, or call 01799 532178.
