PUPILS at Ashdon School celebrated Harvest Festival in a traditional way, by gathering in crops from a vegetable patch that they had originally planted in the spring.
The pupils, with help from a number of volunteers, then bagged up the vegetables and sold them to parents at Harvest Festival assembly, raising money for their chosen charity of the year, The Princes Trust, in the process.
Headteacher Gary Brown said: “We have all been stunned at the success of the vegetable patch this year. What started as a mini-project during our Outdoor Learning week, has developed into a real bumper crop.”
The money raised by the sale will be donated to The Prince’s Trust, which has been selected by the School Council as the school’s charity of the year.
