BURGLARS hit Saffron Walden businesses on New Year's Eve stealing more than �1000 worth of goods from two shops.
The front door of Brooks Clothes Agency on Rose and Crown Walk was jemmied open by thieves who stole cash, clothing and a lap top worth a total of �1610. More than �200 worth of damage was caused to the building.
In the second raid, the glass in the front door of Natural Health, also on Rose and Crown Walk, was smashed causing about �200 worth of damage. A cash box containing �50 was stolen.
