Cigarettes stolen during burglary at Great Bardfield Co-op

A burglary was committed at a Co-op in Great Bardfield early this morning (November 17).
Cigarettes were stolen from the shop in Brook Street and a window was forced open.
This comes after police received a report that a noise was heard outside The Vine pub in Great Bardfield between midnight and 1am on Friday (November 16). Damage to the edge of a ground floor window was later found on Friday morning.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We received a report that sometime between midnight and 1am on Friday, November 16, a noise was heard outside The Vine in Vine Street, Great Bardfield. It stopped when the occupant turned a light on.

“We were called shortly before 2.20am on Saturday, November 17 with reports of a burglary at The Co-Op in Brook Street, Great Bardfield. A window had been forced open and cigarettes had been stolen. Officers carried out a search for the suspects and enquiries are ongoing to find them. Witnesses and anyone with information should call 101.”
