A decision which could impact the future of a Saffron Walden pub will be made tomorrow by the district council at a public meeting.

Campaigners fighting to save The Railway Arms pub, in Station Road, from being turned into housing will find out tomorrow (March 30) whether the building will be registered as an Asset of Community Value (ACV).

The key decision on the ACV order, which would give community groups six months to raise funds to buy the pub, will be made by Uttlesford District Council’s cabinet at 7pm at the Stansted Free Church Hall.

Action group STRAP – Save the Railway Arms Pub – is urging people to attend the meeting to show support for the nomination.

A statement on STRAP’s Facebook page said: “It’s a public meeting in a public venue so go there and show your support for the campaign to save The Railway Arms pub, you’ll see friends there. Together we’ll save The Railway.”
