SPURS midfielder Sandro was left behind at Stansted Airport on Monday morning as his team left for their Tuesday Champions League tie without him.

The Tottenham man, an 8mllion signing from Brazil, turned up early at the Essex hub only to be told he was not part of the squad for the clash against Werder Bremen.

According to the Daily Mail newspaper he followed the instructions of teammate Wilson Palacios and got to Stansted “bright and breezy” on Monday morning.

But the 21-year-old has not even been named in the Spurs squad for any of Champions League opening stages.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and club secretary Darren Eales told the player he could not fly to Germany but would instead play in a friendly match with the reserves at home.
