Charity Christmas cards are now on sale at Saffron Walden Library and will be until Tuesday, December 19.

The season was launched on Thursday, November 9 by artist and photographer Megan Ridgewell from the town who has given one of her pictures as the design for card which helps a group of 25 charities.

The card shows a photograph taken by Megan of Bridge Street in Saffron Walden. It is a winter scene with snow covering the rooftops.

Last year, the sale raised £18,000 for various charities. At least 70p in every £1, less the VAT is raised for Cards for Good Causes. The cards are on display upstairs in the library (entrance off Saffron Walden Market Square) and the opening hours are Monday to Saturday 10am-4pm, except Wednesday which is 9.30am to 12.30pm.

For details of sales of charity cards nationwide under the scheme, call 01264 361 555 or shop online.
