PROJECT leaders behind Saffron Walden's cinema, Saffron Screen, have listened to suggestions from film-goers and lined up two much-requested films for October.

The two modern classics, The Constant Gardener and Sideways were popular choices from people when deciding what films they would like to see.

Spokesman Mark Hayes said: "We've had many requests for these two films and we've found there is a strong audience for good films like these, even when they've been out on DVD for some time."

The film adaptation of Nick Hornby's High Fidelity will be screened on September 24, prior to the author's appearance at the Literary Festival.

The Constant Gardener, based on John le Carre's bestselling novel, will be shown on October 8 and 9.

Sideways will be shown on October 15 and 16.

Tickets are available from Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre.
