Clavering gym Fitness Focus has put together a team of runners to run the STORT 10 in aid of Fledglings Family Services, a children’s disability charity based in Wendens Ambo.

The Stortford 10 has been a premier event in the UK road running calendar since the early 1980s and is widely acknowledged to be one of the biggest 10-mile races in south-east at this time of year. It takes place on Sunday (June 22).

Danny Quelch, managing director of Fitness Focus gym, has been preparing his team of runners for the race, pushing them hard to enable them to reach peak fitness and leading them out on trial runs.

He said: “As a family business we wanted to do something to help children and families. We are thrilled to be supporting Fledglings.”

Parents and carers of children with disabilities who are seeking help and advice with practical problems of everyday living should call Fledglings for help on 0845 458 1124 or visit fledglings.org.uk.
