THE M11 has been closed in both directions after a huge pile up involving three HGV’s, a coach and four cars this morning (April 4).
Firefighters from Saffron Walden, Stansted, Newport, Cambridge are on the scene along with a special search and rescue team.
The crash has happened between junctions 8 and 9 and an Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Two people are trapped in the coach and one person is trapped in the car. Crews are currently administering first aid and using specialist cutting equipment to release the casualties.”
It is not known if anyone has been killed at this time but at 10.50am both carriageways were closed and the air ambulance has been called for.
