THREE crews from Saffron Walden and Thaxted spent over two hours tackling a barn fire in Ashdon yesterday (Sept 22).
Crews were called around 12pm to Ricketts Farm to fight the fire which had ignited argricultural buildings and garages. Firefighters reported that the area was 50 per cent alight on arrival.
At 2.10pm crews had extinguished the fire and were using a thermal imaging camera to locate any final hot spots.
Crews returned at 9pm to check to the scene remained safe.
