EXPLORING World Cultures is the theme for two art workshops taking place at Saffron Walden Museum this month.
The first workshop, suitable for children aged from seven upwards, will take place on Wednesday July 22, from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Tickets for this are priced £3 each.
This half-day workshop will shed light on some of the fascinating artefacts in the world cultures collections and give children the chance to make their own artwork using traditional printmaking techniques.
Learning officer Aleksandra Jones said: "This creative session should be a lot of fun - it's a great way for children to learn more about the exhibits from the collections.
"Bear in mind that paint will be used, so make sure your children are wearing clothes that are okay to get dirty!"
The second workshop, which his for adults and will be led by Len Pole and Ms Jones, is on Saturday July 25, from 10.30am to 4.30pm, priced at £6 a ticket.
This full-day session will give participants the rare opportunity to handle artefacts from the world cultures collections and gain further insight into the 'Origins of the Museum Collections' exhibition; they will then create their own printed artwork inspired by the exhibits. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Places can now be booked for both events at the museum front desk. Advance booking is recommended.
