THE deadline to find Saffron Walden’s Carnival Queen has been extended.

Saffron Walden Round Table’s bid to find the 18th carnival queen is just 11 days away and the competition is hotting up with six wannabes entered so far.

The selection is taking place on April 30 in the town hall – the first event in the run up to the eight-day weekender (July 1-9). Tickets are on sale for £10 from the Tourist Information Centre.

So if you have got what it takes and if you want to be the next Carnival Queen and represent Saffron Walden, then you can collect an application from from: the TIC, Walden Local offices or download from the website 8dayweekend.co.uk. Deadline has been extended to Tuesday April 26 due to the bank holiday weekend.

All applicants must be aged 18 or over as at Saturday July 1, and will be required to attend dates out of Carnival week. Pease read application form for further information. Any questions can be directed to events@8dayweend.co.uk
